History, the arts and community involvement are all passions in Rebecca's life. HISTORY: Rebecca enjoys reading about history and traveling to experience it. Rebecca has been on the Museum On Main Street Board of Directors in Pleasanton for many years and enjoys her role as Chairman of the Special Events Committee. This role has involved Rebecca in setting up the monthly lectures, putting on the Holiday Tea and Fashion show, heading the Ghost Walk, coordinating the events at the Museum for Heritage Days and the Antique Fairs, and taking charge of the Historic Home Stroll. She enjoys the creativity that goes along with the role, and the volunteers that she works with. GHOST WALK: Take a tour of downtown Pleasanton and the sites that are haunted there. Hear bits of Pleasanton history along with the ghost tales that abound. This event is Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13, 2007. The tour begins at the Museum on Main Street in downtown Pleasanton, and tours leave every half hour from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please plan 1-1/2 to 2 hours for the tour. Tickets may be purchased at the Museum On Main Street at 925-462-2766 or by calling Rebecca at 925-577-8802. This popular walk sells out very quickly, so call for tickets soon. Adult tickets sell for $12 and children's for $10. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: If you would like to volunteer to help at the Ghost Walk, please call Rebecca at 925-577-8802. We need guides to lead the groups to the haunted sites. Please plan to wear a costume. HOLIDAY TEA & FASHION SHOW: We turn the Museum On Main Street into an elegant tea room on December 2nd. There are two sittings — 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The fashions are graciously offered by our downtown merchants for the show. The ticket price is $30 ($25 for museum members). We serve a scrumptious high tea and have wonderful gift baskets to raffle off. Call the Museum at 925-462-2766 for tickets or call Rebecca at 925-577-8802.
TEENS: We always use lots of teen volunteers at the Museum. Please contact Rebecca at 925-577-8802 if you have a student who needs to earn community service hours. THE ARTS: The arts have always been an important part of any culture. Rebecca has been a board member of the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council (PCAC) for many years. This year, 2007-2008, she is serving as President. PCAC is dedicated to bring together the arts groups in the community and aid them in creating ongoing arts programs for the community. PCAC produces one concert that is a fund raiser every year, the Mark Anderson and Tamriko Siprashvilli Dual Piano Concert. The date of the next concert is February 16, 2008. Mark and Tamriko are world class performers who live in Pleasanton. Rebecca has worked with Don and Julie Lewis to create "Young Expressions," a professional performance using young artists from Pleasanton. Don is a world class performer who has dedicated himself to youth throughout his lifetime. Julie and Don work with young musicians, dancers, etc. in creating an outstanding show each year to showcase the teens that have entered the Young Artists Achievement Awards. This year's performance will take place at the Amador Theater in Pleasanton on March 29, 2008. SPRING CARNIVAL: Rebecca coordinates the Re/Max agents to put on a Spring "Thank You" Carnival for all Re/Max clients, their friends, and their families. Please watch this website for more information regarding the date and time. Please feel free to call Rebecca any time with questions and for assistance
